New Forest September 2015

We were incredibly lucky with the weather this weekend. It was dry and mostly sunny so we were able to get out and about without getting wet. We visited Bucklers Hard. A lovely little place with an interesting naval history. We had a potter around in the museum then went for a boat trip.

 A right motley old crew.

Eventually the river turns into the Solent. The isle of Wight is in the background

There was no one around and all these boats were just moored up with no one on board. It might be busier at the weekends I guess.
You can look around a couple  of the little houses. One has been made into a pub and this one is a reconstruction of the chapel. I think it is still used for some services

We left Bucklers hard and went to a pub that is renowned for its quirkiness . The garden is full of sculptures and this stream runs through the garden
 Unusual metal work

The inside of the pub is lovely too,all squashy sofas and blankets, and lots of nooks and crannies. No photos though as there were quite a few people about.

Next morning we headed off into the forest for a walk. Charlotte and Roger do "letterboxing" walks. It's a bit like geocaching and quite good fun.

This is the view from the back of the caravan

I quite like this photo. It looks a bit like a magical horse. The sun just shone on it as I took the photo.
This is from the front of the van. It was very misty and dewey.
On Sunday we went to    Boscombe. It has a beautiful beach and a long pier which has lots of this to make music with.
Charlotte being creative. Malcolm scoffing an ice cream.

While we were on the pier we saw these monstrous jelly fish swim past.

We went back to the van for a BBQ.
Unfortunately despite Med's best effort with Charlotte's hairdryer the BBQ refused to light and they had to resort to the good old oven
