No rain today so we headed down to Hove to see what effect the high tides and wind had had on the seafront. It was quite hard to take in how high the tide and waves must have been.
This is where the steps to the beach used to be. Now completely covered with stones from the beach.
Fancy a seat with a sea view.Bit cold for a picnic today though!
The promenade is quite wide and it was completely covered with pebbles and seaweed. People had made a path through the middle. Goodness knows how they will get it all back to where it should be.
The groynes were out of bounds today. Not surprising seeing as the sea had taken huge chunks of the brick work away. Couldn't get close enough to take a photo though. You can just see the gap in the wall.
Remember this place ladies?
Fish and chips anyone
This is where we had lunch on Vic's hen do. It was all closed up today. I think they were flooded. So much damage. What you don't realise is how big some of the beach pebbles are. Apart from the damage, the noise must have been incredible when they were being flung up onto the prom.
