Himalayan Garden. Easter .

We went here with the kids during the Easter holidays. It was absolutely freezing but we all had a brilliant afternoon.

The weather was absolutely freezing but the kids were getting a bit stir crazy so we wrapped up and headed off to The Himalayan Garden, just past Knole Park in Sevenoaks. We were directed to the wood barn for the "stick event", basically a huge room piled high with sticks and twigs and sensible adults with knives and scissors! The kids could use a variety of other bits and pieces to make whatever they liked.

Abigail and William started to make bows and arrows, with some help from grandad. Phoebe made a dream catcher

After they had made sufficient weapons to mount an attack on a small country we headed out into the cold in search of the elusive "yeti"
On the way we stopped to build a shelter. A whole area had been coppiced and all the branches were left laying around just waiting to be turned into shelters and hiding places

Phoebe in her palace!

She was quite happy to stay there until ..............

The yeti appeared!! No sisterly love here, Abigail scarpered and left William to fend for himself. Good job he had his bow and arrow.

What's going on here? Is he giving us leaves. Or is he going to bury us in them...

Poor bloke. He must have been bored witless. There were only about half a dozen people in the whole garden that day as it was so bitterly cold and not many ventured up the hill to the playground.

Wills plucks up courage and shakes hands. Phoebe is no where to be seen!

After a while the "yeti" wanders off into the woods and we don't see him again.
After a quick play on the adventure playground stuff and a race round the maze it was just about time to go home to thaw out. There was just enough time for grandad to demonstrate his pigmy arrow technique which impressed William no end.
