The two (or three?) pictures of A380s were of the same plane, intended to give a comparison between the weather in London and in Singapore, where it is (was, now) hot and v sticky.
The picture of me with a beer was taken soon after we were refused an early checkin after our 12 hour overnight flight. We were spaced out, so there was nothing else for it, was there?
Did a bit of touristing: Singapore Flyer (look it up), Chinese Heritage Centre and back to the hotel to crash out at about 2.
In the evening, went to visit friends (Brendan and Natalie) who took us to Jumbo, a restaurant on the seafront, where we ate chilli crab and various sides. Then on to the highest rooftop bar in Singapore (look it up). After that, we went to Raffles Long Bar (I've seen longer), where Linda drank a Singapore Gin Sling, I has half a yard of ale, and threw half a ton of peanut shells on the floor (look it up).
Next morning, the City Tour Bus failed to turn up. A great start, and a black mark for Flight Centre. Did our own tours.
Another overnighter (10 hours) last night. So grateful for TomTom for getting to the hotel in Auckland. Had a great meal by the marina. A steak and a lamb shank (and that was just me) went down well after all the fishy, noodle stuff in Singapore. (We even had seafood noodles for breakfast on the plane this morning, because they ran out of English breakfasts. Not surprising really, is it?)
I'm gonna post this, then try and get some pictures posted. Wish me luck.
Malcolm.
