Water, water, everywhere

Went for walk with the Aldrich clan to blow away the Christmas cobwebs. At Teston, the river Medway is flowing very fast, and is flooding the surrounding fields.

07/10/12 Crete

Great day in Chania. Lovely old town and beautiful harbour. But .... Got pressed into ordering a LARGE beer (see picture) before realising the drink drive limit here is zero! Had to leave it. Got annoyed with myself and neglected to check the bill - which was a rip off. Never mind. On to Stavros, a stunning, small bay, where Zorba the Greek was filmed.

A day out in Crete

A lovely day: Georgioupoli where I had my first (and last) Greek coffee - yuk! : lake Kourna, where there was a lot of activity with kids competing and so on. Made the mistake of feeding the geese with our lunch leftovers! On to Rethimnon. Lovely old town and a fortress. Shame the edge was taken off it by a woman reversing into the side of our rental car. See picture for monumental damage!

Crete

Fishers Farm

William: today I took Nanny and Grandad to Fishers Farm and I went down the toboggan run a million times and Grandad lugged the tyre up to the top for me every time now he says he's worm out then I bounced on the big inflatable cushion with Grandad - he couldn't have been that worn out then I went on the zip wire and Grandad did too then I stroked a horse a guinea pig a rabbit a hamster and a cockatoo then I went on the squirrel walkway a bit like go ape then Grandad taught me to make a swing boat go then I went on a tractor ride the I went on a drop slide and the Spider Man climb - got to the top 77 meters above sea level then I had an ice and fell asleep in the car on the way home. Ate ALL my dinner - THREE sausages as well as yogurt and biscuits. Went to bed and can't sleep!

Paralympics

Just got home from a tiring but exciting day. Some great athletics, but the park is huge.

This guy from Nigeria (I think he was a nominated representstive, as they didn't have anyone who qualified - might be completely wrong😁) got a massive cheer after being lapped in the 1500m.

Tintero

Today, we went to Tintero for lunch. They bring out huge plates of food, and you take what you want as they go past. Ate far too much of tapas style food. A light meal with a beer or two is on the cards for this evening's meal.
