End of term July 2013.

Jo broke up on Tuesday so we went up to look after Madelyn for a few days so that Jo could get a head start on some chores.

Madelyn is a little monkey when I try to take photos of her and nearly always turns her head away. However things are a bit different if she has the camera!

Say cheese.

She has a new hairstyle which is super cute.

We look her for a walk and I bought her some jelly tots. Se ate them one at a time over a period of about an hour and refused to be parted from them to go on the swings.

The next day we took her to a soft play place. She wasn't particularly excited about it and just mooched about a bit.
Then she saw this.

Poor old grandad. He went up there about a dozen times

Still smiling.

   She loved it!

The next day we went to the little farm just round the corner from Jo's. We went into the sheep pen and   the. poor little mite got the fright of her life when the lambs made their presence known  with some synchronised  baa- ing. We bought some "yum yum" for the animals but although she was happy for me to feed them it was no go for her.
But she did give the guinea pig a bit of a poke and the chickens got some food lobbed at them too.

We took her to the little play area. Lots of sand and a big basket swing. An extra photo has sneaked in here but it's a lovely one so I've left it there.
We all had a lovely time .

New Forest July 2013

The weather was fabulous as we made our way down to Charlotte's caravan

We've stayed there before and they always make us welcome and look after us really well.
This friendly horse is in the field behind the caravan.

On Friday morning we went to the beach. It was warm enough for Val and Rog to go for a swim

Beautiful views.

On Friday  afternoon noon we went for a walk. This was a special tree apparently,it was called The site of the Naked Man but gave no further info. Very weird. Just a little plaque right above Med's head!

On Saturday we got the little ferry to Mudeford. It's the place with the expensive beach huts.

The blokes in hats

 The ladies without !

Lots of sunshine again.

Not many people around when we got there but it was heaving when we left.

On Sunday morning we did a cliff top walk from a place called Barton on Sea. The views were fabulous but as it was so hot it was all a bit hazy.
The Isle of Wight.

The golf course at Barton on Sea, looks as if it is in Spain.

On Sunday we went to some local gardens. It was only small but absolutely lovely. The owners had created different themes, one of which was a Japanese Garden. As well as the usual plants there was a pond of Koi Carp. They were monsters. Very tame, you could stroke them.
We bought a bag of food and there was a right old argy bargy  to get there first. The noise they made was incredible.

All very lovely and peaceful. This garden was part of the National Gardens Scheme, private gardens that open for charity.

And finally .........
Saga's latest model struts his stuff.

Lovely weekend part two July 2013

This weekend  we were invited to a birthday party. Andy and Jo were invited as well which was lovely. It was a really late night but Madelyn stayed the distance and we all had a lovely time.
The next morning we went to the lavender farm

It is a beautiful sight. We took Madelyn there last year

 How she's grown.

So we wanted to go back this year to see how much Madelyn has changed. This year mummy and daddy came too

And this year she could run!

A lovely morning

Once again we put the paddling pool out. Jo and Andy had been invited to a BBQ and the plan was for Madelyn to have a little play in the water when they came back to pack up
It didn't work. One tired baby.

I take hundreds of photos but I'm never quick enough to get one of her smiling. She was chasing Jo, rah-ing her with a boglin, and I just managed to snap this. I've still got some of the toys that you girls had. Madelyn is particularly fond of this manky doll
She lugged it around for ages. Good to see the old toys still get played with!

Lovely weekends July 2013. First weekend,

For two weekends in a row Jo , Andy and little gorgeous chops came to stay. The first weekend Jo and Andy went to a concert so his sister and us shared the babysitting. We picked Madelyn up from Vicky's and took her off to the pub to show her off to the Centre Parcs gang. What we hadn't realised was that we couldn't work the pram. As it turns out neither could the other old grandads!

 We managed it eventually.

The next day we had some time in the garden. I had some play dough and a magic painting book, which Madelyn gave her full attention to.

The play dough also needed a lot of thought.

Scissors are a bit tricky when you are a little girl.
Better get dad to help

We spent ages filling up the paddling pool which she loved. She gets the "ready, steady, go concept but only says one of the words then charges off laughing and squealing. Brilliant.
She's gonna love these when she gets older!

We left the pool up for when she came back from a visit to friends.
But........
 All tuckered out.
