Hunting for fossils at Kimmeridge

I found one wearing a blue coat! :-)

Walk from Corfe Castle

The longest yet today - almost seven miles along the Purbeck Way from Corfe Castle back to Swanage. We considered taking the steam train from Swanage this morning to the start of the walk at Corfe, but discovered that our old farts' passes are accepted on the bus (number 40 goes door to door), so we saved ourselves £13 by giving the train a miss.

Stupendous views, but quite tiring. We had to stop for ice creams when we got back to the sea front.

Swanage

This post covers our first two days at Swanage.

We are staying at Bob Farrar's holiday cottage in Swanage. We are enjoying meals (and drinks) at the local hostelries, as well as fish and chips in paper at the local chippy - delicious.

We have done a couple of 5 mile walks - one on purpose, the other because we took "a bit of a detour". Now knackered. The views are stunning (see piccies).
